Critical Review for Group Presentations

Planning Presentations

The Bus Stop of the Future (Russell Lowe):

Lo, Jason How Ying
Alagah, George
Gan, Ruo Qi
Naumovski, Michael
Tang, Kangyi
Comments:

Good informative presentation with conscious information related to planning. Clear execution displayed by Jason and he showed a clear understanding in the information he provided. Tony could of been more involved. Some areas were too content heavy and we could of had greater examples. Video could of been more engaging. The general outline of the presentation could of intrigue the audience greater to highlight the corrective actions to avoid planning issues. The presentation touched on examples of bad planning however the group could of issued a background to ineffective planning.

Planning: Aerial Ropeway in a World Heritage Environment (Russell Lowe):

McMahon, Bethany Louise
Park, Maria Eun Ji
Parto, Daisy Danica
Hoda, Iqra Faria
Nguyen, Yen Nhien
Portokalli, Matthew Louis

Comments:

Very content heavy supported by great images of Katoomba. The readers seemed confident with the information they provided, however it seemed a bit generic in the information they were providing and could of added a greater exposure to the personal perspective and situation they were dealing with. The video was engaging and showed the audience the process of how the team worked. It is evident within this presentation the planning concepts and the corrective actions to planning unlike the previous group. In summarising the presentation it was a concise and well - mapped out presentation.

Communication Presentations

The Last Suprematist Sculpture (Russell Lowe):

Hanna, Marina
Thantrong, Andrew

Comments:

Video seemed very groomed and clean. The members showed a clear understanding of the task they had to present just need to alter the way they present. I suggest more eye contact with the audience to show us that own their work and are confident with the assessment. There could of been an increase in the relation of the how the information there reading off can be related to their own work. It was hard to understand why the communication types are not shown between them as they are a prime example for the audience as they communicate everyday as stated by them.

The Creation of Gothic Architecture (Stephen Davey):

Xiao, Yaoyu
Seif, Lauren
Wannous, Bassel
Constantinidis, Anthony
Hur, Benjamin
Fan, Xiaodong

Comments:

The notion of communication is an interesting topic that needs be explored a little bit more in-depth for this group, language barriers from differing cultures is evident within this group and they express to us how they overcame this then we could of learn what to do if we are faced with that in the future.Very clean prezi presentation which I'm not used to with Prezi and a well defined video. Bassel, Ben and Anthony were very confident with the information that they provided which is good to see. I learned some extra features within communication that my group didn't touch on. Referencing could of been more specific.

Intellectual Property Presentations

The Creation of Gothic Architecture (Stephen Davey):

Zhao, Wei Xi Ricky
Lam, Dorothy Kar Yan
Nagaya, Maki
Koteski, Stefan
Le, David
Kim, Dong-Hyuk (Alan)

Comments:

Funny and engaging video. Concise definition of IP. Good way in showing the types of IP with known examples to help the audience relate to the information they provided. Clearly showed us how to register and a link attached. Showed us the infringements of not having an IP so we know the repo cautions. Little bit unclear connection between Ip and how it relates to their project, they need to harness their thoughts in representing how they can justify the main elements of Intellectual property within their work. They need to use their group as an example for the audience to engage with them more.

The Last Suprematist Sculpture (Russell Lowe):

Raymundo, Alyssa Kristin Onate
Kuljic, Vedran

Comments:

Too much content on the slides. Went through the types of common IP protections in Australia which was good to relate to. Reader seemed a bit unclear with the information they provided. How the IP relates to the project was much more clear and the reader was more confident with the information. How to do intellectual property needed to be outlined better. Vedran was very engaging in sharing how IP related to his group which is merit to him as we need to be able to understand IP as young designers are not aware with the legal infringements of manipulating ideas that are evident through the web or other platforms. This was the main group in IP presentations that outlined the major effects of infringements of IP.

Conflict Presentations

Aerial Ropeway in a World Heritage Environment (Stephen Davey):

Chew, Bao Wen
Taylor, Shaun Kelvin
Yolola, Jesharelah Alayan
Gonzales, Roschelle Anne
Corre, Eugelyn Lor Flores
Bautista, Reina Pineda

Comments:

Started the presentation with the definition and types of conflict which was good to gain an understanding on what really conflict is. The Interdependence Conflict slide was very hard to read and understand too much contect on the slide. The group should of had there own interpretation not all that information. Differences in Background/ Gender had strong and dominating images in the background of the slide and hard to read the information. Again the slide format could of been better. Readers could of been more confident with the information they delivered too much reading of phones didnt help their execution of information they were providing.

The Last Suprematist Sculpture (Russell Lowe):

Kalgovas, Benjamin

Yan, Daming
Vu, Hanging

Comments:

The slides and information provided seem to be a little generic and a personal connection from the group members would of been better to see. Ben was very confident with the information he provided however Daming could of rehearsed a bit more. Daming could of given us more eye contact instead of reading off the paper to convince the audience a bit more with the information he was sharing. Very funny and compelling video that had a greater personal connection with the audience from the group members.

Remuneration Presentations

The Last Suprematist Sculpture

Huxtable, Anders Philip
Nicholson, Joshua Daniel

Comments:

The presentation overall aesthetic firstly was quite polished and clean to read. However the information that was being provided seemed a little un-educated and the readers were generating the information from their own perspective a bit more, the video was a prime example we know you send the invoice to the client then get paid; I don't think a video was required to highlight that point. The perspective of invoice layout was appreciate however to understand the method of contract to the client for the job to outline the specifications with the job.
